Path of Life

the-sun-470317_960_720

Upon a path we each walk

Hoping to be on a solid bedrock

Often our path gets muddy with pitfalls along its course

Looking to not get stuck in remorse

How we get through those patches of pain

Without getting stained

Is how we build character and fortitude

An inner strength we will exude

But how do we conquer those traps that we cannot escape

Who can you turn to keep you in shape

There is one we can place our hope and trust in

The Lord our God who is our savior

Distance

The thought of us being apart

Wears upon my fragile heart

But I know no matter how hard it may be

It will always be you and me

Our hearts will always be mended as one

Until our days on earth are done

The flame within our hearts will burn bright

Whatever the distance between us two

My heart will only beat for you

When loneliness becomes overbearing

Look upon the skies and stars we are sharing

Call my name upon the wind

With our souls intertwined

Answering back with a whisper between our souls

Sending my love back to you

Upon A Cloud

hayden-valley-63564_960_720

Tell me what the sound a cloud makes

Let me know what it takes

To find where it begins and where it ends

What that journey they make intends

As I watch them pass me by

Wishing to myself I could fly

Free as they float across the sky

Seeing all that lies below

Oh how I wish I could go

Over the trees and above the mountains

A soul set free to see all of God’s creation below
