I just wanted to say thank you first to all of you out there that have taken the time to read my writings. When I first started this blog, I didn’t know what to expect or whether I would be able to even write anything. My experience with writing anything was an occasional letter to someone and writing Papers in High School and College (A long time ago for both). I am what you would have called at the time, a failed husband, a self-prescribed underwhelming father and just going through the motions of life. I was really dead inside and was lost at how to get out of it. My wonderful wife, who I almost lost due to this absence I had allowed into our marriage is the one who lead me into this world. She has been blogging for around 3 years and I must say is an amazing writer. See her blog here; https://puttingmyfeetinthedirt.com/ . I won’t go into her journey with her blog, but let’s just say my absence in our marriage was behind some of her writings. I didn’t know a thing about poetry beyond maybe Dr. Seuss books. I just knew I had so much bottled up inside of me. I was never one who was good with emotions, I just bottled them up and stuffed them deep down inside. With writing this blog I have found a freedom to express a lot of these emotions not only through my writing, but in my life. Over these last few months I have been on a journey that was to win the heart of my wife back. I know this is not a journey with an end, but something I need to do every day.
A majority of my writing has been inspired on my feelings towards my lovely wife. I hope this journey may inspire others to know that it is never too late to fight for what is right, no matter what it may be. I know a lot of you were surprised to find out that ~ M and I were husband and wife. It was a decision made mutually between us to hide that fact until we knew was the right time. I have learned a lot about myself through this blogging adventure and reading and interacting with so many of you have really made a lasting imprint on my life. I am amazed by all the talent I see through so many of you and am inspired by it. Again I want to just reintroduce myself and say hello and thank you for coming along on this journey with me.

Today I had a good day.
The Sun shown through the cracks in the shutters
A glint light upon my eyes
Awake to the world around,
I feel your presence near to me
Your breath comes so evenly
I move myself closer to you
To feel you awakens my soul
I nestle my body next to yours
You stir for second
Closer we become entwined as one
I see your face and soak it all in
The radiance it shines out does the Sun
I hold you near not wanting to wake
Enjoying the sound of your gentle breath
To wake in your arms is all I desire
To hold my love so close is such joy
My heart full of passion
My soul full of you
Today was a good day before it really happened.
This is my first attempt at poetry and I write it out to the love of my life, who has inspired me to become so much more. Love you Babe…

Large as a pony
A joyful day for you is just lying around the house
You are so big, but yet so funny
Lying around quiet as a mouse
Except when your snores begin to roar
Cuddly as a kitten
Gentle giants are what they are called
Shedding enough hair I could knit a whole bunch of mittens
On the couch is where you sprawled
Gnawing on bones as big as logs
Drool dripping all around
Our wonderful pair of mastiff puppy dogs
So much love from them can be found
A part of the family day after day
Emma and Pippa Happy Birthday
Radiant upon my face
Flowing into my soul
Beauty exudes from its glow
Happiness brightens my day
Your smile takes me away
I long to feel its warmth
Lips filled with passion
Wearing a hotly designed fashion
Wishing to make it mine
From now until the end of time
Tears falling to the ground
Tears you have shed all around
Tears you cry in the lonely times
Tears in the sad times too
Over the years so many tears
Times of trouble
Times of strife
Cried for times that you have felt alone
A heart filled with so many tears
Wishing I could hold each of your tears in my hands
Take them into the sunlight
Let the sun shine through them
Exposing the rainbow inside each of your tears.

Distance apart
But still close to your heart
Heavens filled with starry night
Pulling our souls close and tight
Miles separated brings us sorrow
Back in each others arms come tomorrow
Cold cool and delicious
Milky smooth to feel
Wrapping my lips around its tip
Licking longingly with my tongue
Tasty treat to my buds
Gathering all its flavor in a swirl
Such a delectable treat for me to eat
Licking, lashing all around
Nibbling it all on down
Savoring my luscious Ice Cream cone
One is good, a pair would better
