The silence abounds all around me

Only the quiet clacking of my keyboard tapping

Thoughts and visions of her face is what I see

Her love is what keeps my mind from snapping

The days they pass by in slow haze

Waiting upon this ending so I can start a new beginning

Trying to fight this deadly malaise

Until then my thoughts inside my head keep spinning

For she is my light in the dark

Upon her soul I take hold

Waiting for the journey of life with her to embark

Next to her is where I want to be as I grow old

Wounds of My Past

Deep pains that I thought would never pass

Scars of my youth I tried to stay hidden

Running from what I thought was so wrong

Hiding within a mask wishing I would never be found

All these traumas and bruises of what I believed not right

Kept me from you and out of the light

For years I hid from you what was hidden in my head

I thought I was a monster who should have been dead

You came to me with only your tenderness

I hid from you in the wilderness

Then a day came where it all began to crack

Letting my guard down I came out of the black

Opening up to you about my pains and my past

I thought you would flee

But instead you stayed with me

Freedom I found that day not long ago

Breaking these chains from my that which held me low

With that freedom came a love I had denied

It flowed from me like river run wild

My scars and pains laid bare

A love I have for you is eternal I swear

My Rock

Upon a rash decision in my life
Things nearly came undone
I left my family in strife
Thinking to myself what have I done
Took a path that led me away
Wished upon an unlikely outcome
It led me down a darkened highway
Leaving my mind and body numb
Luckily for me I have an angel in my life
Someone who loves me even though I’ve caused nothing but strife
She is my foundation and my rock
Into her arms is where I will always go back
Upon her my love pours out
Together forever we will be no doubt

Upon a Future Path

Upon a path of our life forthcoming

Which will begin before my homecoming

We look to take a different pathway

Beginning on your coming birthday

An adventure of excitement we seek

Into a life we create unique

This journey we go as two

Finding a stimulus above and beyond we do

Our future we will create our own

An amazing path we shall be sown

Life lived on our terms we shall pursue

Your birthday will be only a preview

Tempest

Waves sweeping me back in forth
Driving me upon on unknown course
Wind whips all around
Not a sight of land to be found
Caught in a mighty gale
How can I ever prevail?
Tossed and turned like a rag doll
Caught within this ungodly squall
I reach for something to hold on tight
Something that brings me safety in the stormy night
Arms that are meant for me
Beauty at her sight sets me free
Pulls me out of this tempest churning
Into the love we both have been yearning.

Mistakes I have made
Errors in thought so grave
Anger an enemy of mine
Loneliness is such a crime
Regret for my past sins
Hope for our future ahead
Please forgive me for being insecure
For my true heart beats for you so pure
Each day I wake, I look to the sky and pray
I will be back to you soon one day
Brings me one day closer back to your arms
Where in your heart glows a love so warm

A light of a glorious sunrise

I melt in your gaze like butter

Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time not long ago

There was a young prince who only knew heartache

Along came a fair princess who stole his heart away

Upon this romance was formed a bond

Two hearts merged into one

A young fair princess was born of this love

Beautiful and full of life was she was a gift from up above

Such a joy this girl grew to be

A jewel to her father of immeasurable worth was she

As the years passed by, a joy to all she knew

Soon out into the world she flew

Seeking forth her calling she venture

A young man’s eye she did catch while on her adventure

Swooning to his voice and looks did she fall

For this fine young gentleman did call

Soon upon the castle’s gates

A question of forever did they seal their fates

Under a tree did he bow

With his love forever did he vow

The King and the Queen so approved

Upon a journey did the young princess and her prince did move

Two hearts merged into one

From this love did emerge the most precious gift of all

A young prince so small

The King and Queen did delight

At such a wonderous sight

Out of a love long ago

This family has continued to grow

Dedicated to my wife who is the rock of our family and to my daughter and her husband who graced us with our first grandson.

Carnal Bliss

Her eyes burned with unbridled passion
Upon that gaze he did fall
Into the burning pools of fire within
Did his eagerness for her spread unchecked
A fieriness of lust abounded
He craved her touch all around
She cried out for his embrace
Into each other’s arms they plummeted
A scalding burning pyre did rage
Communion of their two souls
Interwoven with an animalism unleashed unabated
Craving, longing hunger for a satisfaction long denied
They did fall into a carnal bliss

2019 The Year Ahead

Hello all and welcome to 2019. For once I can actually say I’m looking forward to the year ahead. After this past year which started in a tent in the Northern part of Iraq, to the nowhere area of Louisiana and finally ended at home in Wisconsin with my family. This year ahead is filled with firsts and exciting milestones. To start this year out with a bang, I’m proud to say I will become a Grandpa for the first time. My beautiful wife and I are so excited for our daughter and her husband who will be welcoming their first child. At this time, we know it will be a boy, but still no idea on the name. How is that for a way to start out the year. The following month, my wife and I will be celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Such a huge milestone for us after all we’ve gone through over the years. Come this summer, we will be celebrating daughter number 3 and her graduation from High School. Such an accomplishment for her. She has been homeschooled since 1st grade and decided to go back to for her senior year. It has been an interesting ride for her, but she has ridden it out in her own style. Come the end of summer in the month of September I will be celebrating my 50th birthday, I still can’t believe it myself. I personally don’t feel much older than 35. Then to end the year comes a day I have been looking forward to. On the last day of the year I will be officially retiring from the United States Army. It has been a long winding road through this part of my life. It is a little unnerving to be entering a new stage in my life, but I look forward to slowing down a bit. In the middle of all these events, my beautiful wife will continue to be working towards finishing her College Degree. My youngest daughter will be continuing her journey through 5th grade going into 6th grade while possibly being the only child left in our home. As I said this year is going to be a year I look forward to.  So again Happy New Year and may the year ahead be full of new experiences and be positive adventures.
