Sounds of the City

Outside his window the world goes by

Lost in the confusion he wonders why

The sound of a train and its sorrowful horn

Brings within a saddening scorn

Cars drive by with a roaring sound

Unable to move he cannot be found

Within his prison he sits in pity

While outside his window the cries of the sounds of the city

Trapped by his unraveling mind

Its only a matter of time

Soon the world will be nothing but silence

At the end of his defiance

Keeper of Her Heart

Once upon a time
He was the keeper of her heart
Held tightly at the start
Eventually that heart did stray
And now it has gone away
Taking it for granted was his crime
Now alone he will spend his time
For he is no longer the keeper of her heart
And now they are apart

The Blue Screen of Death

On a night much stormier than this
Came a cry from out of the mist
A blood curling cry did pierce the night
It startled me with such a fright
What could bring such dread
Was it a monster or the walking dead
I ran to see what caused such a stir
Nothing but a blur
What caused this shrill from my friend Beth
But having a project due and getting the blue screen of death

Time

Time slips by slowly
Never going as fast as we wish
Or slowly when we need it to
Time together is to short
Time apart drags on and on
Slowly the seconds tick by
Making the minutes move on
With the hours passing into the past
The days mixing into each other
With the months feeling like eternity
Until that day I come home
Into your loving arms
Where I will pass the rest of my time
Until my time runs out
But I will make every second of it count
Because with you is where I belong always

The Last Link

Who would have believed it
Unless they saw it with their own two eyes
Such a strange little man was he
Who would have thought so much was within
A power that was unexpected you see
To the people all around
A hero had been found
To be a savior was unexpected in the least
Saving those he loved
And to think
That he was the last link
A savior for the world

A New Fallen Snow

The wind blows briskly across the pasture
Trees swaying to and fro
A night made to avoid disaster
The moon above brings and enlightened glow
A chill in the air felt to the bone
Wrapping its self all around
A white cover over the trees has been sewn
As a new fallen snow covers the world

The Order of Things Unseen

Behind the veil

Something is hidden beyond your reach

To describe it would be such a tale

Strangeness of your thoughts forever beseeched

Telling you the story of what could be

Hidden behind your mind’s smokescreen

So outlandish to one who would see

Because it’s still left to the order of things unseen

Leaving you to ever ponder what your mind has imagined

Sitting behind that veil
