I’m Back…..

Well hello all you out there in blog land, as you have noticed it’s been a while since I wrote. I’m on the mend and doing much better. My shoulder is healing good and getting stronger every day. This summer has been a long one and since I’m down here in Louisiana, a hot and humid one. I’m looking forward to moving back north. My days as a soldier are running down, so soon I will hang my boots up and be onto the next part of my life. Before then I have to deal with another birthday, it’s one of the big ones. I just want to thank everyone for their patience and their wishes and prayers for my healing. So today I reintroduce myself back into this world of blogging and say I have missed you all and look forward to hearing from you and reading all your amazing stories and poems. So off we go……..

A Moose on the Loose

What do you do with a mouse
That will not leave your house
What do you do with that ant
Who does nothing but rant
Or a that flea
That wants to sit on your knee
When that cat
Keeps thinking your name is Matt
Then there’s that dog
Who is just so scared of the fog
And finally, there is that one that won’t vamoose                                                        A moose on the loose
Why can’t I just have normal animals around me
That just go woof, meow and squeak
Oh well what can you deduce
When you live inside an old caboose

Kissing Curse

Oh what a wicked one was she
An entrancing beauty both inside and out
Men couldn’t help but notice her as she passed them by
Filling them with a deep want to know her more
Her teasing ways led many astray
On rocks they crashed
Where their hearts were dashed
Fluttering her eyes and entrancing them with her smile
Let all the gents beguiled
This power she had was what she craved
But under this came a downfall so steep
On so many with her wickedness she did slay
Making them fall for her so deep
But when they felt they had caught her
A feeling came to them so perverse
What a sickening feeling inside did stir
On those lips dripped the poison of her kissing curse
They would lose their mind
And their life in time!

Invincible Endeavors

Always attempting what was thought impossible
Trying things that others said was crazy
But he said all was possible
He said those others were just lazy
Incredible feats
Improbable acts
He thought never of defeat
It was all just facts
Within his mind stood no denying
All who saw said never say never
The fear would leave the crowd crying
For he accomplished such invincible endeavors
Until he choked on a piece of bread
And ended up dead

Delirious Intentions

He was all in for this shin ding
Right from the very start
At the beginning he knew it was the right thing
Once started they would never be apart
The craziness of it all was what he craved
An intenseness that was felt to the core
Its appeal was what made him its slave
The awesomeness left him crawling upon the floor
So for just a taste of a scrumptious smudge
Going after it with a vengeance
A taste of that homemade fudge
Left him with such delirious intentions
At the thought of being able to lick that bowl clean at the end.

Macaroni Madness

Down the road beyond the turn in the bend

Upon which the road did end

There lived a peculiar family I do say

I first met them on a hot and muggy Wednesday

When I met them, they seemed just a normal sort

The Father seem I right spiffy old sport

And Mother you could tell was a looker back in her day

The children a boy and a girl seemed squared away

So how could this family be beyond the norm you ask

It was you see all a mask

For soon their true colors did appear

And it was something that should have been quite clear

Within there house it was told

Of a strange proclivity this family did hold

Upon their all the walls

Up and down the halls

In the cupboards and up on the ceiling

It was quite revealing

Was noodles of all kinds

Spaghetti, ziti, elbow, egg and all that you can imagine come to mind

The furniture was covered from one side to the next

Patterns that were really complex

When they took them away

The towns folk would often just say

Them parents must have been filled with badness

Because it seemed like it was nothing but macaroni madness

A mirror image of who he once was.

Once a dashing young prince of a man

A smile that would make the ladies swoon

Covered from head to toe in a bronze tan

The stature of a legendary British Dragoon

Feats of bravery and daring heard near and far

Winning the ladies hearts across the land

Many looked upon him like a star

His good looks and hard body went hand in hand

But as always, the case

A foe beyond his strength did rise

His slow fall from grace

An enemy did take him by surprise

It was neither man nor beast

An adversary that was so sublime

A fight he put up at least

The prosecutor of his demise

Was an enemy without pause

An opposition working overtime

Made him a mirror image of who he once was

The enemy of his was non-other than father time.

Looking Back

Looking back on a childhood so long ago

I think back to my neighborhood where I did roam

A group of friends we were all the same age

We were a group of eight young boys

Times were much simpler back then

There were no cellphones or digital cameras that tracked our lives

No exciting video games and only 4 or 5 channels on the boob tube

Our neighborhood was our play land

Playing games like football in the mud and flashlight tag at night

Buying fireworks through the mail and the good kinds to boot

So many things we did, we were limited by our imagination alone

Running through the yards late into the night

Playing games like fake fight

Swimming in an old Recycle Pond

Going sledding in the dark well past one

It seemed those days would never end

But time has a way to change even those so close

High School came and we moved apart

Moving different places

Becoming parts of different groups

I miss those days, I miss those friends

But those memories are something I hold close

Oh those years ago when life was simple and friends were everything

I still talk to a few of my old mates

Some I haven’t seen since we officially became men

Now we all have families and such

But a bond built over those many summers and winters long ago

A life so simple but so yet so full of fun

Bustling Beauties

Running all around

Rolling around on the ground

Such a playful scene

The playfulness is almost obscene

Pulling and tugging on each other

Under the watchful eye of their mother

Joy and happiness abound

Leaves those who watch spellbound

Such a wonderful sight

Makes the world seem right

So much energy they exude

Watching them always lightens the mood

They are such cuties

Those bustling beauties
