Changing Seasons

Waiting around the house

Watching through a dirty window

Seeing the trees barren swaying in the breeze

Mud and brown grass covers the ground

Birds flying grabbing twigs to make their nests

Snow melted away, temperatures slowly begin to rise

Sun filters through the clouds

Feeling in my mind that spring and summer will soon be here

Sun rays warming my face as I look outside

Thinking in my mind of all that will come with the new season

What am I contemplating…

All the things I need to fix, clean and do and excited about it all

Climbing on the roof to clear out the gutters and remove the sticks

Raking up the leftover fall leaves

Cleaning up the bushes and getting the mower ready for the grass

Am I crazy to look forward to all this stuff

Probably, but hey I am that way

Of course I can do without the mosquitos and all the other bugs

So here is to spring and here is to summer

May they be full of fun and times of adventure

Empathetic Heart

Thoughts of past days run through your mind

Some full of fun and others not so kind

Thinking back on those times bring despair

Makes you wonder why do I care

What makes you this way you ponder so deep

Causing your heart to tear and weep

The person you are is so full of so much love

You find ways to show compassion like our God above

When people are hurting, you feel that too

An empathetic heart reaching out to those sad and blue

So, caring for those who despair

You are a person so full of tenderness, kindness and grace

The reason you feel is because of how much you care

I am so amazed at the beauty inside

A heart and soul so amplified

By the tenderheartedness found in you

*Dedicated to my wife who has the biggest heart full of love that I know. She cares so deeply for people and I am always amazed by you.*

My Armor

Rocky times I have seen in my life

Trials and tribulations I have faced

Times when I am about to fail

The enemy puts doubts into my mind

Pushing me deeper into despair

How do I fight such a force?

What do I use to defend myself

Grabbing my shield

Wearing my breastplate

Buckling up my belt

Putting on my boots

Placing on my helmet

Taking a hold of my sword

I am prepared for battle

These are my armaments given to me by God

Strong in the Lord and Mighty in his Power

Taking my stand against the Devil I will fight

I pray to my Lord and Savior

Give me strength and courage to wage this war

Victorious I will be in His Love.

 

Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

For me there can be no other

You are the only one I desire

You are the only one I need

You excite me like no other

Shivers run down my spine at your touch

Passion is what I feel in your kiss

Heat is what I see in your eyes

I look forward to each moment I am near you

The feel of your body as I caress your silky smooth skin

Pulling you tighter to me as we mesh into one

Thoughts of you lift my cravings for you higher

Diving deeper into you is what I long for

With you I feel the ecstasy of love

You are the one, the only one for me.

 

 

Time Apart

Time apart from you

Left for work saying adieu

Mind wanders around

Can make me feel down

The beep of my phone

Means a message from back home

Where you wait for me

The place I would rather be

Biding my time until I see you again

The waiting can drive me insane

Walking through the door

Arriving to your kisses and so much more

Until that time comes

I will sit here all glum

Until that time all my love I send to you.

 

Across the Room

Looking at you from across the room

The beauty of my flower in bloom

Time has passed since we first met

A look from you leaves me in a cold sweat

Unable to divert my eyes

A ravenous hunger arises

Moving to you I pull you close

Into my arms I propose

A time of wantonness desire

Rising in us a fire

Passion unabated we explore

Until we are spent with no more

Curled together we hold each other tight

Off we fall into a blissful night

Late Nights

Clock strikes midnight

A time most begin to fright

But I alas is the time for me to hit the hay

Staying up late

Is becoming harder to take

When I was a young man I would start my nights late

As I grow older if find it hard to stay awake

Now midafternoon is my time

Not too early and not too late

Of course I try to prevent this fate

I try an afternoon nap

I sleep in late

All to no avail

As summer comes and the sun’s setting becomes delayed

My need to go to sleep will be downplayed

So I guess it’s time to lay me down to sleep

Until my bladder makes we wake

But that’s another story all together

 

Gravity

Your beauty gathers me in

A sparkle in your eyes

The glow of your smile

Our lips pull near

A passion passes between us

Gravity pulls our bodies pulled together

As heat rises from the friction as we embrace

Intensity of desire reaches to our souls

When we pull apart

It rips at the fiber of my heart

Where I want to stay

Is with you always

Monday

The beginning of a new week

My head aches my body is weak

A weekend of rest and relaxation

Lying in bed until noon

Time with my wife we swoon

Staying up past midnight

Now Monday comes and I have to rise at first light

Crawling out of bed

Sleep still clouds my head

Into the shower I go

Shaving off my beard that has just begun to grow

Putting on my uniform and pulling on my boots

Heading out for another week of work

Somedays the weather is nice, somedays not so much

Monday comes and the only thing I can think of is

When will Friday arrive……
