#Tuesday Tunes – Faster Pussycat “House of Pain”

The only song I really liked from this group, mainly because I could relate to. My childhood was something that was rough, due to a very strained relationship with my father. Fortunately I have repaired that relationship and I can say I do love my Dad. Hope you enjoy another look back at my 80’s musical flashbacks.

Little Brown Couch

The little nook in our bedroom

Sits our little brown couch

Was destined for the living room

It just wasn’t to be

So one night we moved it across the floor

To a place that would be its new home

To that little nook in our bedroom

A bit stiff and hard were the cushions

Wearing it in was our mission

A bit of snuggling would be are best option

Together as we should be a snogging

On our little brown couch we two be

Maybe we should move this over to the bed

Path

What do you do when time stands still

Unsure of the steps that will take you forward

Not wanting to take any back

Caught in the middle of a wasteland

Anxiousness can be overbearing

Wanting to move ahead

Time however moves onward like molasses

Patience is a virtue they say

Wishing I could stay patient awaiting the next day

So Lord I wait upon your word

To send me unto the path designed by your hand for me

Together

Upon you I find my courage

To reach for a future with you

When I look into your eyes

I find a time ahead so bright

Journey’s ahead to see all we have talked about

To reach that moment trials will we face

Together we will make it through

From sea to shining sea, across the oceans we will go

Until such a day when eternity we shall reach

Hand in hand we shall go to that end

Till we walk the roads made of gold

Path of Life

Upon a path we each walk

Hoping to be on a solid bedrock

Often our path gets muddy with pitfalls along its course

Looking to not get stuck in remorse

How we get through those patches of pain

Without getting stained

Is how we build character and fortitude

An inner strength we will exude

But how do we conquer those traps that we cannot escape

Who can you turn to keep you in shape

There is one we can place our hope and trust in

The Lord our God who is our savior
