The screen flickers on

Sounds of a machine coming to life

Putting in my password

Waiting for everything to load

Updates, scans, this that and another

Finally I can open up the program that brings you into view

Seeing you sitting there, with a smile that melts my heart

An excitement inside me whenever my eyes fall upon you

Sitting so pretty and a smile that takes my breath away

Wishing you were back home now

Sitting here instead of there

I begin to say Hi

But no sound comes out on your side

Alas, not all is perfect here in Skype world

So just being able to see you is all I will get

Sexy, smoking hot and looking so lovely to boot.

Hurry home, it’s been to long

My love, my life, my one and only….

Wishing you were here by my side

Tossing and turning unable to sleep

Missing the sensation of you near

Your scent lingers in the air

Wanting to reach out and feel your embrace

Missing that touch of lace

Seeing your face in my dreams

Anticipating the day you return

Where into your arms I will lay

In our bed where we will play

So hurry back to where you belong

My heart waits to play you its song

Even as time passes

The pain does not go away

Memories of you drift through my mind

So many things I wish I had said to you

So many things I still want to talk to you about

You were the one I went to when I was scared as a child

The one I would tell my troubles to as I grew older

When I needed someone to kick some sense into me

You were the one who knew what I needed to hear

I know I could be a bratty little brother

But you loved me just the same

My heart still aches every day without you still around

You left this world way too early

So many tears have been shed from my eyes

I wish I could have said goodbye

I send this message to you my dear sister wherever you may be

I love you and miss you so

With love from your baby brother……

Foggy thoughts in my mind

Remembrances of times past caught in a bind

Views of past times clouded in my brain

Trying to remember events and friends gone by

Straining to revive the memories I try to bring back

At times words escape my thoughts

Unable to bring them forth to speak them out

So much I am losing as each day passes

Unable to find things in my mind

Maybe it is age as I grow older

Blows to my head in days gone past

Making a scramble of my head at the time

These missing pieces scare me so

Scared of what I’ve let go

Times, memories, people and places

Please Oh Lord, keep my thoughts whole.

Changing Seasons

Waiting around the house

Watching through a dirty window

Seeing the trees barren swaying in the breeze

Mud and brown grass covers the ground

Birds flying grabbing twigs to make their nests

Snow melted away, temperatures slowly begin to rise

Sun filters through the clouds

Feeling in my mind that spring and summer will soon be here

Sun rays warming my face as I look outside

Thinking in my mind of all that will come with the new season

What am I contemplating…

All the things I need to fix, clean and do and excited about it all

Climbing on the roof to clear out the gutters and remove the sticks

Raking up the leftover fall leaves

Cleaning up the bushes and getting the mower ready for the grass

Am I crazy to look forward to all this stuff

Probably, but hey I am that way

Of course I can do without the mosquitos and all the other bugs

So here is to spring and here is to summer

May they be full of fun and times of adventure

My Armor

Rocky times I have seen in my life

Trials and tribulations I have faced

Times when I am about to fail

The enemy puts doubts into my mind

Pushing me deeper into despair

How do I fight such a force?

What do I use to defend myself

Grabbing my shield

Wearing my breastplate

Buckling up my belt

Putting on my boots

Placing on my helmet

Taking a hold of my sword

I am prepared for battle

These are my armaments given to me by God

Strong in the Lord and Mighty in his Power

Taking my stand against the Devil I will fight

I pray to my Lord and Savior

Give me strength and courage to wage this war

Victorious I will be in His Love.

 

Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
