A Day in a Life

Life is but a trip

It changes from day to day

Some of which we wish we could skip

Others we beg for it to never go away

Desperate for the weekend to arrive

To times begging for the week to start

Sleep is a luxury often denied

Private moments filling our heart

Quiet times and times of madness

Adventures we will never forget

Moments that bring us sadness

Love is what holds us together

Kindness is free to give away

Be good to one another

For tomorrow is always a new day

Upon the Waking Morning

Night time falls on me like an unwelcome guest

Sneaking darkness into my soul

Leaving my thoughts of you distressed

Slowly my mind slips into that blackhole

Thoughts of you permeate my mind

A longing to feel your body next to mine

The beauty of you I always find

Wanting to wrap around you and entwine

But all I find is that empty hole

Apart from you has left me distressed

Each of us must face the night alone

Our love at this time is suppressed

Until the day that I return

My soul is left in mourning

It’s your touch that I yearn

Upon the waking morning

Dreams

My life flies by
Life begun as an error
Lived without love
Seen as worthless, a mistake
No thoughts for the future
False hope with no dreams
Unable to draw close
Always a flight
Unsuspected connection was found
A dream come true I thought
My heart did matter to one
Mistakes of ignorance
Confusion with thoughts of delusion was made
Unable to properly give, unknown how to take
My dream almost slipped away
Unknown walls broken apart
Giving fully to one’s beautiful heart
Changes made within hope and faith
Life rebuilt, given a new start
A path opened for two
My dream was found complete in you!

Journey

Feet barely touching the ground
Time running in place flittering and fleeting
At this moment hardly a sound
Onto the next of life’s meetings

Settled into place
A flashing of a foreign decree
Surrounded by grace
Constantly I cannot see what’s ahead of me

Only in you myself is found
Connected and entwined as one
Forever we two are bound
Until my journey’s are done

Aurora Nights

Out in the clear skied night

Two tied souls look to the stars

Hearts entwined so tight

Thinking of each other from a far

A time soon to come

So much time apart

Uncertain of if their love has succumbed

Will they be able to restart

The heavens above a sign that it will take flight

Heavenly message given through Aurora nights.

I’m Back…..

Well hello all you out there in blog land, as you have noticed it’s been a while since I wrote. I’m on the mend and doing much better. My shoulder is healing good and getting stronger every day. This summer has been a long one and since I’m down here in Louisiana, a hot and humid one. I’m looking forward to moving back north. My days as a soldier are running down, so soon I will hang my boots up and be onto the next part of my life. Before then I have to deal with another birthday, it’s one of the big ones. I just want to thank everyone for their patience and their wishes and prayers for my healing. So today I reintroduce myself back into this world of blogging and say I have missed you all and look forward to hearing from you and reading all your amazing stories and poems. So off we go……..

A Father’s Joy

The sound of new life
A cry of such beauty
The miracle unfolds
She comes with 10 tiny toes
Blessing beyond compare
In a moment she is there
Taking my heart with her precious stare
Looking into our little wonder
That day so long ago
Our consecration of our love
Watching her grow from baby to child
From child to adolescent
Today she becomes an adult
From that first cry to her laughter so coy
She will always be her father’s pride and joy

Happy 18th Birthday Brianna….

Down for a bit!

Hello out there just wanted t say hello and let you know that I’m currently having to sit on the sidelines for a little while. I just had surgery on my right shoulder, had my rotator cuff repaired, had my bicep muscle moved and reattached and finally had part of my shoulder bone shaved back. I’m having to do everything left handed which has been an adventure in itself. Never realized how hard it is putting on your socks with one hand. Writing this has been an adventure. I will try to keep on reading and following your blogs as best I can. Thank you and God bless you all.

Love Ballads

Listening to sappy love songs on the radio
Songs showing how love could grow
From being there for you from Bon Jovi
How I remember you from Skid Row
When you don’t know what you got til it’s gone from Cinderella
Being in Heaven on a Warrant
We would fly to the angels with Slaughter
Remembering how when I see you smile in Bad English
Then we would want to know what love is belted out by a Foreigner
Thinking of home sweet home with those bad boys Motley Crue
Because love bites by that Def Leppard
How we can’t fight this feeling on the road with REO Speedwagon
Wanting to know is this love slithered out by Whitesnake
Cause every rose has its thorn dripping with Poison
Finally there is no one like you stinging us by the Scorpions
So much love on the radio’s back then as we use to cruise the streets
Arm around our girl with love pouring out of in those power ballads
How I miss those times, but those songs will always ride with us
We could never get taking high enough in love with those Damn Yankees

Inspired by listening to those great Power Ballads of the 80s

Keeper of Her Heart (Love So True Version)

I was blessed to find a love so rare
She was an answer to all my prayers
Above all others she’s the one
Unfortunately, my actions almost made it come undone
An angel from heaven was she
Our love was always meant to be
So, entrusted from God from the start
I was to always be the keeper of her heart
