Glancing into your eyes

I see the beauty of that girl I fell for so long ago

A look that I almost lost

Mistakes and miscues I had made

Left me with a unthinkable cost

I know that all is not perfect

But I will love you with no regrets

Looking at your eyes I know the way back

Your heart I shall ever protect

Never taking for granted that which you have given

By your side I shall ever stand

Until the end and I am holding God’s mighty hand

You are my heavenly gift

Within your eyes my heart shall never be adrift

You are my love, my life, my one and only

A smile upon your face

A twinkle from your eyes

The warmth from your embrace

The Softness of your caress

Passion dripping from your lips

Happiness is what I have from you

My love and heart are forever true

A journey through life we share

No one else will ever do

With you is all I want

Together forever

Life so full of hope

A future so bright

So many lives did he touch

Smiles to all he met

Jokes and laughter staples in his life

Surrounded by friends until the end

A young man’s life cut short

We will never know why

God has a plan for all his children

Not only here but in heaven above

He is now an angel looking down

A light for those who knew him

His memory will never fade from our hearts

A young man who resides with God above

A world full of the hearts he touched below

Today we cry

Tomorrow we mourn

Down the road our paths will meet once more

In remembrance of a young man who we knew from a boy, who’s life was tragically cut short.  Rest In Peace…

Next to you I am strong

Being with you we become one

Time we share is precious indeed

Consumed in the love I need

I know you feel it to

A connection that so strong between us two

However when we are apart

Something is amiss with our hearts

A sense of missing part of me

Something I lose when I’m away from you

So say this is a time you wonder if it is true

I tell you without a doubt and not to feel blue

Never shall I leave or go away

Next to your side is where I dream of each day

Together with you is where I will stay

 

23 Years

There was a day when I said no way

I would never be the one to take the plunge

Staying a single man was my plan

Hiding up in the mountains away from it all

It was what I wanted all along

Then one day a sight came to my eyes

A girl who I swore was out of my league

She had a smile and a twinkle in her eyes

That made you melt inside

I knew I was in trouble from the start

She was going to have my heart

The plunge I knew I was going to take

The day of our wedding I showed up late

23 years ago I said I do

Today I say I Love only you

Thank you for making me see the light

I thank God for taking the dark out of my night

The Lord blessed me on that day

23 years ago Today.

 

Mend

Broken pieces all around

Shards litter the ground

Walking among fragments of a heart, shattered

Trying to mend what was broken apart

Trying to put the puzzle of her heart together again

Piece by piece I try to repair

Praying that they hold tight

I patch, I mend, I try my best

Knowing that much of this I cannot fix

Beyond my control, Beyond my grip

I can only pray to the one who can make a broken heart perfect once more

Lord of all please make full what had been hollow

Replace the damaged pieces of this heart so pure

Make whole the connection of our two hearts again

Amen

Knowing the pain you feel

Understanding that I’m to blame

Ignorance was what I showed you

Neglecting what you needed

A change to my heart was required

Transformation was what happened

I have no answers to your questions of how and why

All I can say is my heart for you has changed

Wanting you more than I can say

Excited by your touch, stimulated by your essence

Looking in your eyes is spellbinding

Hard to look upon the past

Praying for our future forward

Waiting is all I can do

Leaving is something I can’t

You are my Today, Tomorrow and Forever….

I am never going back

Today I find my mind looking to explore

Today I sometimes never shut up

Today I tell you everyday what you mean to me

Today I pull you closer when you want to push me away

Today I build a path for us to walk on together

Today I pursue your heart and seek to win it back in the worst way

Today I tell you I am a new man

My heart of stone has gone away

A heart of flesh is what is left

My love for you is here to stay
