A Year to Remember

A year has almost passed in to the beyond
Time of great upheaval and mayhem
Changes to so much of what had been normal
Adjusting to stay alive
In the midst of this all
Unbelievable grace has been bestowed
Old lives setting in the past at the drop of a ball
New chances with the rise of the sun in the east
Miracle of new life won out
With chubby cheeks and dark brown eyes
The announcement of another to come
What more could Grandma and Grandpa ask
A move on faith
That brings two back as one
Life is strange
In so much peril and scourge
Can the graciousness of God be seen
With all of that I still pray
That next year can go back to normal
Faces seen, hugs and handshakes

  1. Hey, Soldier, so great to see you today. I’m always relieved when I see things normal enough for you to be checking in. Congrats on the little one. Hope your family thrives amid the chaos. God is often found best when things are dark. So why do I get down? See, it takes you to pull me back to wisdom and trust. Thanks.
